For example, in your first sentence you have an examle of each which seems ambiguous.I am not sure I understand your final sentence. You should now tell me about what you did last weekend.

Very good application of opinions, Alistair. I also like the way you have used different persons of the verb. Are you saying that you went climbing? If so, you need to use 'hacer' to convey the idea of 'going' [doing] an activity (cycling, swimming, etc). Use 'fui, fuimos', etc. when you want to say you went SOMEWHERE, eg. fuimos a Norwich.

- When saying, 'On Sunday, Monday', etc., you do not need to translate
'on'. You simply add, 'El', giving you this example: El lunes = On Monday.
- You want to say, 'my brothers and I'. This should be, 'mis hermanos y yo...'.

Delete- When using expressions of preference: 'me gusta', 'me encanta', etc., you need to use the definite article, 'el', 'la, 'los', 'las' before the noun that you like, love, hate, etc.
- Be careful with words like 'fun' because, in English this type of word is both a noun [I had fun] and an adjective [it was fun]. The former is 'diversión', but the latter is 'divertido'. Which one do you think you need?
- Do you or did you have a great time? Check all your opinions for the correct tense.
- With weather, you need to use 'hacer', not 'ser'.
- When evoking possession, eg. 'my mother's cat', ' my friend's hat', etc, you need to express the structure like this: 'the cat of my mother', 'the hat of my friend'. Have alook at your structure in Line 3 and see if you can correct it.
- What do you listen to? Can you add a time expression to distinguish making cakes from listening?
- Though I like the way you have arrived at 'hací...', 'hacer' is irregular in the preterite tense. Check your book.
- Use 'así que' for 'so...'.
- Use 'ir' [fui] when you want to say that someone goes/went SOMEWHERE, but 'hacer' when you want to say that someone went [did] SOMETHING (cycling, swimming, climbing).

You are also starting to use sequencers and express opinions with greater confidence, and your subordination shows good promise. However, check verb tenses as there are a couple of present tense forms that should be preterite. Also, check spellings.

- 'Jugar' is followed by 'al', then the sport, eg. 'Jugar al fútbol', 'jugar al tenis'.
- When expressing likes and dislikes, the correct definite article should precede the thing or things liked, eg. 'me gusta la pasta'.
El fin de semana pasado primero vi la tele y desayuno fruta y tostadas. Me gusta fruta porque es sana y sabrosa. Luego salí con mis amigos y después fuimos al cine. ReplyDeleteThis is well-written, James. It is well-linked and includes a good range of verbs, sequencers, opinions and simple subordination. However, the whole is ambiguous; you begin by invoking last weekend, but the sentences that follow are all in the present tense. Remember, also, that 'cereales' and 'verduras' are plural so require verbal agreement. You will also see that your adjectival agreement in these instances is inconsistent: one right, one wrong. Why is your final adjective feminine? Check your tenses.

ReplyDeleteEl fin de semana pasado juego "far cry 3" en mi PS3 pero yo resulta muy frustrante aunque normalmente mi hermano quiere jugar un juego diferente. Sin embargo, el pasado sábado por la noche monté mi bicicleta a fynn valley. El viaje fue difícil porque la pista estaba muy embarrado pero yo disfruté, no obstante!
El domingo por la mañana como patatas fritas y mi amigo en Pizza hut pero prefiero comer en Chimichanga porque la carne es muy duro en pizza hut! ( >0_x)>
De vez en cuando hice un poco mi Aleman deberes pero yo nunca lo terminé!

This is very good, Chloe. You are really getting to grips with referring to events in the past and present with greater accuracy in your verbs. However, check the preterite form of 'hacer' as it is irregular. Check your adjectival agreements, too. For example, 'fue asombrosa' is correct if you are referring to the film, but 'asombroso' would be preferable if you were referring less specifically to 'the experience' of going out with your family and seeing a film. This is the case in your earlier reference to homework, too.
