ReplyDeleteA very good answer, Ellen. However, to convey 'an open mind' you need 'a' + 'mind' + 'open'; you currently have only the third of these three. Good adjectival agreement, but 'diferente' takes 'de' as its dependent preposition; you then need, 'mí'. Finally, you need to render 'poder' impersonal in your final clause, by making it reflexive, because you are not referring to a specific 'you'.

Delete- Check spellings.
- You clearly have had some help from an online translator (...para hacer que el público se sienta cómodo), but you have also lifted intelligently from the source text (No sólo eso, sino también...)
- Rather than use 'usted tiene...', you should use an infinitive after '...es necesario...'
- 'Cake' or 'cakes'?
- In your penultimate sentence, you need to make the verb impersonal as you are not referring to a specific 'you' [see Ellen about this, as she has done the same thing].
- Your last sentence reads, 'The bakery should BE a happy atmosphere.' Do you mean 'HAVE'?

Delete- After modal verbs (poder), you need to use an infinitive.
- If you mean, 'like his/her rivals', you should use, 'como sus rivales' as 'así como' means 'as well as'.
- My writing is obviously unclear: 'to keep' = 'guardar'
- Use double negatives; negative imperatives are conveyed using the subjunctive mood.

Rather than repeat, '...tengo que... (I have to), why not use, 'hay que...'; '...se debe...', as suggested in the task explanation at the head of the blog post? Also, remember that you need to use an infinitive directly after these expressions of obligation, eg. '...tengo que ser...'

Also, check your use of 'para' which, in the immediate context, means '(in order) to...'. Then, remember that, 'tener que' means 'to have to'; check usage in the second line. Is tienes the right word to use when you're talking about the general/plural 'you'?
Esto es muy bueno, Catherine. En vez de escribir 'ser confidente', yo usaría, 'estar confiado' o 'estar seguro'. 'Periodista' como las demás profesiones que terminan por '-ista' es de género masculino. 'Tienes' se refiere a 'tú'; 'tenéis' se refiere a 'vosotros'. Sin embargo, si no te estás refiriendo a una persona en concreto, puede ser mejor utilizar, 'se tiene...'

A thorough response, Victoria. Check your structures and infinitives. For example, 'hay que ser llevarse bien... = 'you have to be get on well...'; 'hay que ser tener...' = 'you have to be have...' Also, you do not need, 'que' after 'se debe'. Your last sentence reads, 'Finally,you have to be a good experience and I have to a good reference'. You need to change two things here.
